Volvo Cars Have Always Been Durable

by N Baulch,

Throughout the history of the automobile, Volvo cars have always been known as durable. This is one of Volvos claims to fame. It is also why these vehicles have been so popular and why they are still around years after other brands of cars.

When it comes to durability, no other vehicle is as synonymous as the Volvo cars. They were made to be nearly indestructible and they lived up to that. Many old cars are still running today. Even the cars that are not on the road any longer will not have an owner that will say anything but good things about the car that served them so well for so many years.

When people own a Volvo, they know that they are buying a car that will not have to be replaced anytime soon. Instead of getting rid of the car, it will often just get handed down to one of the children. Then they go out and purchase a new Volvo to take the old one’s place. This is because these people are totally dedicated to this car.

Once you drive Volvo cars, no other car is going to be the same. Not only are they durable, but they are also very drivable. One of the problems with most cars that are built to last is that they can be hard to handle.

The same cannot be said about Volvo. They are very user friendly and they do not have issues with stability on the road. The car also handles like a dream which is another reason that people love them so much.

Those who are looking to purchase a new car would do well with any model made by Volvo. They are still built as tough as they were when the first one was made so many decades ago. You are going to get a great car that is going to last you and your family for many, many years.

Motorcycle Safety - Gear To Help Protect You

by Westly Lager,

Owning and riding a motorcycle is one of the most thrilling things in life. You are out and open to the feel of the wind rushing at you. But unlike a driving a car and getting in an accident and your car may get a little banged up, a motorcycle is way different. Once you go down on a motorcycle, even at a slow speed, you better have some protective gear on.

The required piece of safety gear by law is of course a motorcycle helmet but the are many other ways you can be injured in the event of an accident. Road rash is the most common and can cause severe injury and pain. This can be reduced or avoided by simple wearing protective gear. Some of the gear that will help you are gloves, jacket, chaps or other protective pants, and even gear you wear over your back to help protect your spine.

The first piece of gear you already have if you ride a motorcycle but may want to reconsider is your helmet. Many people get to concerned with looks and choose the wrong type of helmet. It is always fun to have your own unique style but not at the cost of your safety. It does however depend on the style of riding you do. If you do a lot of aggressive sport riding then it is probably not the best to have a half face or German helmet, because there is more likelihood you will go down and they won't provide they type of protection you need.

If you ride during the winter or on cold days then you most likely already have gloves to keep your hands warm but these are a vital part of your gear and if they don't keep your hands as warm as possible and your fingers start to get stiff then it could disastrous if you can't respond in time. It may seem over the top but having cold fingers can effect how well you grip and your ability to squeeze your brakes and clutch. If you haven't been able to find a pair of gloves that keep your hands warm then consider getting heated gloves or heated hand grips. You also want to have gloves that have some sort of protection on the knuckles as that is a part of your hands that could get road rash easily. Most gloves will have a hard material or plastic guarding the areas that could be damaged.

There are many other types of motorcycle riding gear available but one of the last I will discuss and also very important is a good quality, protective motorcycle jacket. Any leather jacket won't always protect you if you go down. If you visit any motorcycle shops or apparel retailers you will see they have many options to choose from and the material that the motorcycle jackets are made of is a lot more durable and sturdy. They often have thicker material or plastic inserts on the shoulder and elbow region since those are the most likely areas of your body that will hit the ground.

9 Ways to Prepare Your Car for the Winter Season

by G Jenkins,

Winterizing your car, simply put, refers to getting your vehicle in good shape for bad weather that could come up during a cold, winter season. When the question of taking care of our vehicle arises, we do not really bother about servicing the vehicle unless it starts having problematic issues.

What many do not often realize, though, is that maintaining any car includes inspecting all basic parts and systems, giving any needed ones the required service necessary to save you from huge repair costs later on, plus to help with the prevention of future breakdowns. There are lots of things you can do on your own to help your vehicle run better, not necessarily requiring a mechanic or service technician. See what you think of the following.

How To Prepare Your Car For The Winter Season:

1. Road accidents during winter are the primary cause of death in our country. It is advisable that you prepare yourself with an emergency kit in case such a situation arises. You should keep a flashlight, blanket, radio, first aid kits, jumper cables, some food and water inside your car. In case your car is stuck, you will need some of these items to stay warm and secure.

2. In case of heavy snowstorms or blizzards, you should remain inside your car. Do not even try to head to the nearest location by traveling on foot. Get your vehicle off the road and signal with your hazard lights. The need to save fuel is crucial but so is the need to stay warm, both for you as well as the car. Turn on the car heater at least for ten to fifteen minutes every hour. You should put up signs of help. Tying a piece of red or white material and switching on the dome light inside the car will allow rescuers to notice that you are in need of assistance.

3. Getting your antifreeze level checked by a mechanic is a must to prevent the car from freezing arbitrarily.

4. Check your batteries and ignition system. The battery terminals should not be corroded.

5. Carbon monoxide is prone to leak out from the exhaust system. Make sure you check the system for any kind of leaks and crimps.

6. The rest of the car's parts should also be in proper working condition so have this check by a service technician.

7. Having good quality tires set in your car is absolutely necessary, especially if you happen to reside or travel regularly in winter weather prone areas. Installing weather radials should suffice.

8. Maintaining half a tank of gas is advisable. It is important that you have enough gas to be able to take your car to the next station to get a refill. When it comes to being stranded, the whole situation is completely unpredictable.

9. Have enough warm clothes on you whenever you are driving. You must be protected against the bitter cold.

It is always better to be safe than sorry. By being proactive and taking care of a few main issues regarding your vehicle, you may save yourself from unpleasant and life- threatening situations. Regardless of who does what, make sure you winterize your car and follow the above guidelines.

Winter and Car Trouble

People need to take extra care of vehicles during the winter season. This does not mean that the car does not need servicing the rest of the year. But cold winters can be particularly hazardous and difficult for both drivers and passengers, as well as for other vehicles and passengers, pedestrians and others out on the roadways. It is a good idea to get your car thoroughly checked before any ice, sleet and snow arrive.

Buy Or Lease Your Next Car?

by Mary,

Getting a new automobile always involves choices. Pay money or finance? Buy or lease your new car?

There's no right or wrong answer. Cash upfront, financing, and leasing all have advantages and drawbacks. As is the case with each other common quandary, there isn't any slam-dunk answer. Ultimately it boils down to personal choice and a group of basic money concerns.

First, affordability is clearly key. How how stable is your job? How good are your finances? If cash flow is a concern then leasing with its short term regular payments is a nice choice. With a lease, monthly costs are seriously lower than payments when buying. Of course , with a lease you only pay for a fragment of the car's cost -- the part used up during the time you drive it.

buying a car with Cash is an option naturally. Or you could decide to make a large downpayment and still lease of finance. You might decide to pay the down the payment or sales taxes and charges. Otherwise all of these extras are rolled into the loan.

With any type of financing the IR is set by the bank and lendor. It pays to shop around for a good rate. Often the dealer has special financing but many times your local bank is the best chance.

Suspect you want to get into luxury models but can't afford the upfront Cash to buy the car. If you've a good job and credit you're probably a good candidate for leasing. Unlike buying, leasing gives you the option of not having to fork out the down-payment upfront. Plus the interest rate will be similar to what you would pay if you purchased the car but you can only be financing a fragment ofthe total car costs.

Leasing does have its dangers though. Terminating a lease early or defaulting on your monthly lease payments incorporates stiff fiscal penalties. Your credit might be ruined. As with any loan or financing, you need to ensure you carve out the monthly lease payment in your financial position for the predictable future, at least for the period of the lease.

Besides the fiscal aspect, making a buy or lease decision depends on your own particular lifestyle selections and preferences. Think about what the car means to you : are you the kind of person to bond with the car or would you rather have the thrill of something new? If you want to drive a car for at least 5s years, negotiate thoroughly and buy the automobile you like. If, on the other hand, you detest the idea of ownership and like to drive a new automobile every 2 to 3 years then you need to lease. Next, factor your transportation wishes : How many miles do you drive a year? How properly do you maintain your cars? If you reply is : "I drive 40,000 miles a year and I do not truly care much about my autos as I do not mind dealing with correct bills", then you're potentially better off purchasing. Leasing relies on the assumption of limited-mileage, usually not more than twelve thousand to fifteen thousand miles a year, and wear-and-tear considerations. Unless you can keep within the prescribed mileage limits and keep the vehicle in a good shape at the end of your lease, you could incur wide end-of-lease costs.

Hybrid Cars from Honda

by Damon Clyde,

The ring cost of fuel have made hybrid cars be termed as automobiles for the future, as it concentrates more on gas efficiency. A single gallon of gasoline can now take you 60 miles or more given that the reduction of gas expenditure by almost 50 percent is made possible by the hybrid cars. Of course, this is a great profit for car keepers but even individuals who do not have cars can profit. The benefits are such these automobiles are environmental green and do less damage not only to our environment but also to the individuals in the community since the emissions coming from these automobiles are less hazardous than that of the usual cars, so we breathe in a cleaner air that is pollution-free.

There are also other benefits that the hybrid car owners take pleasure in such as the tax exemptions imposed by the US government since these cars is fuel efficient and environmentally green. Owning and using a hybrid car can give you the enjoyment of not having to pay any parking space fees. Despite the fact that fuel costs are increasing frequently, owner of a hybrid automobile would not feel the difference.

As an substitute to fuel and to save it further, plenty of carmakers are promoting hybrid cars on a war footing. Honda is one such manufacturer who has a bevy of hybrid cars available in the market today. The company is now one of the foremost companies to produce a gas efficient hybrid car. Honda, for a very long time now, is a renowned and most reputable car manufacturer ever existed that produces cars of magnificent quality due to its gas efficient car engines which they really take pride on. Honda is now taking one step forward by incorporating the hybrid technology in their automobiles.

The Civic is already a famous model developed by Honda but this newer version was incorporated with the hybrid engineering. The Honda Civic is already known to be gas efficient but now, with the hybrid engineering installed, it can allow you to benefit from far greater gas mileage. The Honda Civic Hybrid is known to have the rating of an progressive technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle. Thus it qualifies to be a green or an earth-friendly car, benefiting everyone. The best part is that the car comes to your with a solid warranty of eight years/80 thousand miles which makes it a car which would be enjoyed for a long time.

Its mighty 253 brake horse power V6 engine will satisfy your craving for speed and its progressive electric motor and battery fitment, helps you save enormous fuel costs. Honda has indeed proved its mettle as a leading hybrid automobile manufacturer so when you are thinking of buying a car, which is friendly to the earth and the surroundings as well as makes you spend less on fuels, limit your choice only to Honda.

2011 Honda CR-Z

By Matt DeLorenzo and Andrew Bornhop,

This spiritual successor to the venerable HONDA CR-X originally made its debut as a concept car two years ago at the Tokyo Motor Show. And now, at this year’s show, Honda has revealed a new CR-Z, a 2-seat hybrid sports coupe that looks very much like the final production version scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. in the second half of 2010.

"Beyond great styling and features, the CR-Z will bring new levels of engagement and fun to customers interested in a small car or a hybrid vehicle," says Eric Berkman, Honda’s vice president of planning.

Fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission and sport-tuned suspension, the upcoming CR-Z certainly will be engaging for the driver, the first hybrid sports coupe on the market. Although the car on display at Tokyo has a tiny back seat, the production CR-Z (which makes its worldwide debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January) is a sporty 2-seater, one with the added practicality of a hatchback.

Conveying its fun-to-drive nature, the CR-Z boasts a bold grille, slit openings for the headlamps and strong character lines that give this Honda an aggressive, angular look. It’s taller and less rounded that the original concept, making it much more practical and ready for production.

One styling cue that connects the CR-Z to the highly entertaining original CR-X is the shape of the rear quarter glass. Beneath the hood, the front-wheel-drive CR-Z is powered by a stronger version of the Insight's 1.5-liter 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain. Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist works like an electric supercharger, effectively boosting both off-the-line response and fuel economy.

The CR-Z concept's interior features more glitz than the production model will, but the layout will remain the same, with the main instrument bezel positioned behind a 3-spoke steering wheel flanked by pods for the auxiliary controls. With the CR-Z—which goes into production at Honda’s Suzuka factory in February—it appears that we will now be able to mix a healthy dose of driving fun with environmental consciousness.

Van Leasing - Things To Keep In Mind When Leasing A Van

by kelly15501,

Van leasing is quite a popular way of financing a vehicle. Not only is this a very easy and convenient way to get a van, but there are numerous other benefits also associated with leasing a van. Moreover, if you keep in mind a few things while leasing a van, you will be able to get the right van at the right price.

Benefits

More and more people are opting to go for van contract hire because there are many benefits that come along with it.

*Required to pay monthly rental charges which are way lower than what you would be paying had you bought a car.
*There is no need to pay large cash payment at the start of the leasing period.
*There is no depreciation risk.
*Servicing cost can be included in your monthly rental charges thus making it easier for you to maintain the car.
*You can always opt for a new model at the end of your lease period. This way you will always be driving the latest model.
*You just need to pay the road tax for the duration of the contract.
*Businesses that are opting for van leasing can get 100% tax benefits.

Things To Keep In Mind

It is obvious that leasing a van has quite a few benefits. However, when you are looking to lease a van there are few things that you should keep in mind. When you are shopping for van business leasing make sure that you compare several quotes. So what exactly should you be looking for in the quotes and the contract?

When you are comparing the various contracts, make sure that you pay special attention to the vehicle’s description. For instance, if you are opting for Ford van leasing, make sure that the quotes that you are comparing are for the same model with similar features.

One thing that you should give careful attention to is the payment profiles in the various quotes. Usually the leasing companies require you to give a 3-month rental deposit and then sign a 2 year contract. For a 3 year contract you will be paying 35 monthly rental charges.

Some companies try to fool customers by charging a higher initial deposit and lower monthly payments. However, the fact is that they might be showing lower monthly charges but the overall cost comes out to be the same as those who are charging lower initial payment and higher monthly charges. So you should compare the overall cost and not just the monthly cost.

The quotes that you are comparing should include road fund license. If the contract does not include it, you should check out whether the leasing company is trying to show a lower cost for van leasing.

If the contract includes maintenance charges, make sure that you know what is included in it and what is not.

Before signing the contract, know if you can change the contract as your needs change. If a contract is not flexible enough, maybe you should not go for it.

Always find out if you could purchase the vehicle at the end of the contract. Many people do that because they have been driving the vehicle for so long and they know that it is in a good working condition.

Finally, always read the contract thoroughly before signing it. This prevents misunderstandings later on.

Cleaner, Faster Electric Mopeds For You

by michaelrussell,

Taking a trip to the gas station always pinches a little. This is because, while the price of gas seems to be drifting forever skyward, our wages are not matching in the same upward trajectory. Many people are trying to avoid the cost at the pump by driving less, taking more public transportation, and sometimes even purchasing electric vehicles. While electric-hybrid cars still have a long way to go, you can purchase a fully electric moped today and save gas on your daily commute. Below, we are going to tell you more about electric mopeds...

These electric vehicles have come a long way in the past twenty years. They used to be considered toys, even on par with those electric ATVs that are given as presents to young children.

This is because some models are capable of reaching highway speeds for prolonged periods of time. Depending on the model, your top speed should range anywhere from forty eight to sixty miles per hour.

This means, in practical terms, that if you choose to purchase one, you will need to have the proper licensing and registration done at the DMV. However, after this one minor hurdle, you will then be able to drive your moped anywhere that you would drive your car; mopeds are easier to park at your destination as well.

These mopeds are powered by a cluster of twenty one lithium-ion batteries, a lightweight battery option that holds its charge longer than any other kind of battery. In fact, mopeds powered by these batteries should be able to go up to ninety miles between charges.

Since most people prefer to charge their vehicles overnight, this means that you should be able to do all your day's driving before you need a charge. You will probably be able to get away with charging it every other night.

In conclusion, Electric scooters are not only good for you, but they are good for the environment as well. Overall, they create fewer emissions than comparably sized vehicles. That is because they generate zero emissions while running and need less power to charge than goes into the processing and distributing of gasoline. If you are comparing a moped to a car, the difference in environment impact is enormous. So what are you waiting for? If you want to do something good for your yourself and your budget as well as for the environment, you should get an electric moped today as there are many benefits to them.

Malibu Honda Repair

by Jan Whitten,

Finding high quality, affordable repair for your Honda or Acura vehicle is very important. Any type of technical repair involves a large amount of trust between the consumer and the correct shop. Since they have technical data the consumer does not have, it is awfully hard to quality check their work. You do not want to overpay for repair [*COMMA] but you also need a really well-done job. Repair can be awfully dear. A poorly done repair job can even be very dangerous, as a motor vehicle component failure during transit can cause an accident. This is a quite serious subject.

There are some major advantages to going with a repair shop that is certified as a consultant with the vehicle you own. For Honda and Acura vehicles, it is best to be with fellows who know the internal workings of those specific makes of autos. Each automobile has an entirely different makeup. Westlake Independent Honda/Acura Service has supplied specialized expertise for Hondas and Acuras since 1988. They can be ready to fix almost anything without pointless random attempt. This could protect you from having to pay for an experimental trial when you are getting your car fixed. This is very important.

eventually, the most important factor when selecting a fix shop is trust. You want a company that has the best reputation locally for gratifying their correct needs . Some shops will do nefarious things and try to'repair' things that are not really damaged. Some may do a poor job. There is a degree to which a bad auto repair company may do a rotten job in order that they can create more work for themselves. Since you don't have the technical data to understand if an issue is their fault, they would use you in such a fashion. This is why trust and a good buyer reputation are a must when selecting the proper auto repair shop for your Honda and Acura vehicles.

Luckily there are shops out there that do everything they can to show to their consumers that they are the best. This may not let them'create work' by making issues, but they're going to win in the long run. Having the trust of your local community is the best way to guarantee a long standing, worthwhile business. This is the attitude which has made Westlake Independent a trustworthy name in car repair for Honda and Acura vehicles and has won them many awards, accolades and local recognition. If you need somebody in your corner, who is loyal, accomplished, and experienced with your vehicle, you can easily count on them to get you active again.

choosing an auto repair shop is a particularly significant decision. Go with someone who has trust of the area community. Westlake Independent is a great example of such a company. They can handle everything, and their services maintain your factory and extended warranties. They even broker new cars and have pre-owned vehicles available for purchase. Rental cars are available on site, and local shuttle service is available, too. Whether upkeep or fix for new or pre-owned vehicles is required, Westlake Independent has it covered. Westlake Independent Honda/Acura service is the do-it-all mechanic for your Honda or Acura.

Thousand Oaks Honda Repair

by Jan Whitten,

Hondas and Acuras are known for their legendary durability and performance, and they did not earn that reputation by building vehicles that are just like all of the others. So why would you trust just any one to repair your Honda or Acura? Doesn't it just make sense to bring a special vehicle to a place that only deals with those particular vehicles?

Car agencies rely on folks bringing their car back to them, not because they have done good work during the past or have a good reputation, but because they're the assumed experts on that particular type of automobile. Most agents have high worker turnover, though. The agent mechanic working on your Honda today might very well have been working on other brands for years and be new to the Honda brand altogether. Therefore , they aren't necessarily pros on any one kind of vehicle any more than your average general mechanic, and may or may not know the subtleties of your Honda or Acura.

The technicians at Westlake Independent have built their careers on Hondas and Acuras and most have been working there for some years. In fact, a technician's average reign with this company is twelve years, and a service counsel's average tenure is fifteen years.

Awards and licenses can be a good way to judge how loyal and quality-driven a shop is. Are their mechanics warranted by Automotive Service Excellence, and do they have any ASE Master Technicians? Are they approved by the vehicle Club? Is the shop a member of the Better Business Bureau, and if that is the case what's its rating? Have they received any local recognition? Westlake Independent is the sole customer shop in all the Conejo Valley to have once been awarded the difficult-to-attain ASE Blue Seal of Excellence, and they've received it every year since 2003. Not only are their technicians ASE-certified, they have three ASE Master Technicians, the most prestigious title in the business. And three Master Techs at the same facility is actually extraordinary.

as well as being a certified member of the approved auto repair Program, this shop has received two trophies from AAA for superb Member Satisfaction as well as ten Years of Dedicated Member Service. Westlake Independent is also an affiliate of the BBB and maintains an A+ rating - the highest possible. The Ventura County Star even named this shop a 2009 Readers' Choice favorite.

Honda and Acura owners are fanatics about their automobiles. They merit a mechanic that's also a fanatic about the Honda and Acura brands, and can diagnose and repair issues from the viewpoint of someone who has only worked on these particular brands for some years. Westlake Independent Honda/Acura service is the do-it-all mechanic for your Honda or Acura.

How to maintain your car

by Mike Justin,One things a lot of people have a problem with is taking care of their cars. One main reason for this is because cars are made well. They perform well on the road and for a long time that people do not realize that cars also need maintenance. But like anything with moving parts you need to maintain it.If you do not take care of it then you will hae more problems about your car in the long run.So here are some important things you need to do to your car to keep it running well.

Obviously, first thing is to have regular tune ups. When people bring their cars into my auto repair San Diego shop I try to emphasize this to them.Regular tune ups bring a lot of benfits to your cars.Well, for the most obvious reason it can will keep all the parts in good running condition. But it can also detect early signs of problems eith your car.And just with everything else detecting early signs of problems would prevent it from worsening. With cars you want things easy to fix. Because once it gets hard to fix it gets expensive.

Next thing to keep in mind and do is to regularly change the oils of your car.Not being able to do this will affect the performane of your engine. An engine that is affected would lead to more problems.Failure of a smog test is one result of these problems. Whenever I have a car fail in my smog test San Diego shop a lot of times I see they never changed their oil regularly. You can also destroy your engine if you do not regularly change oils.

Another thing you must regularly maintain are your brakes. Brakes are a part of your car that can get expensive to fix when broken. The easiest solution to this problem is to not let it break and just maintain it. So I have all my clients of my San Diego brake service make sure they maintain their brakes.

So those are some of the important reminders you must regularly do if you own a car.Regular maintenance will do your car good in the long run.

Think about your number plate and make the right decision

by Jayne Henry,

Sunderland and Newcastle. Tyne-side and Wear-side. Geordies and Mackems. They’ve never been the best of friends, but a man in Sunderland has decided that the grief he receives in Newcastle, over one of his most loved possessions, has become too much to bear.

Gavin Johnson will sell his car number plate on eBay.

Bought over eight years ago, the life-long Black Cats fan is now auctioning off his M14KUM, or “Mackem”, number plate to the highest bidder. Every time he goes to Tyneside, he’s aware of people staring at his car and muttering. He’s begun to notice odd things when he comes back to his car; there are scratches that weren’t there before?

“And the last time I was in Newcastle, someone spat on my car!” he says, “How horrible is that?”

It’s easy to assume that this would send the 48-year-old Heavy Goods Vehicle driver into a rage, the heat of which would scorch the ground around him, whilst his glasses steamed and cracked on his face, the metal returning to its molten state and running down like tears.

But instead, he has buckled. The Geordies have won, and he is selling his beloved. Sending it off into the dark, cold night to save his own skin. He was going to give it to his son, but what father would be cruel enough to curse the fruit of their loins with such a burden?

This story highlights the importance of picking the right combination of numbers and letters when choosing a custom number plate. After a little thought has been devoted to it, what might seem like a great idea at first may be exposed as the idiotic manoeuvre it really is.

We all know the story of Big Abe, who bought the number plate “B16ABE” for his car. His family and friends were elated to see him with it, and he was the talk of the town for years afterwards. Big Abe was clever, and thought about how his number plate would be received.

So, be more like Big Abe, and less like Gavin Johnson. Think about your number plate, and buy one you’ll be able to love and live with forever.

Car Interior Cleaning and Washing

by Nayan Choure,

Cars are rather expensive modes of transportation. We want to keep it clean to keep it always looking in good condition. We make sure it is waxed to keep it very shiny and looking like brand new all the time. We do not want to see scratches on the body, and we make sure it is handled carefully whenever we bring it to a repair or car center.

But this is just the exterior part of the car. Our cars may look beautiful outside but what about the inside? It is equally important that we keep the interiors clean. After all, we sit inside our cars for several hours a day as we drive to and from work. We sometimes let passengers ride with us also.

Keeping the exteriors clean may be for aesthetic reasons, but keeping the interiors clean is largely for health reasons. We want the air we breathe inside fresh and safe. We do not want any unpleasant odors throughout the ride. We do not want to catch bacterial or viral diseases brought about by dust or dirt.

Some car owners take their car into car wash and let them do all the interior and exterior cleaning but it cost them pretty much expensive than expected when doing it all by yourself.

Learn to clean your own car will save you a lot from paying for professional services. You could get useful tips from books or inquire in auto cleaning services to learn how to do it yourself. You will know the right strokes in cleaning the rims, tires, the seats, mats, dashboards and other parts of the car.

Cleaning your own car is a good exercise while you make sure you get rid of the pollutants that may affect you and your family. Here are some tips on cleaning the car interiors.

Vacuum the dirt that sticks to the floor mats and seat covers. Clear all trash and big items inside your car first before vacuuming. Empty your ashtray, remove floor mats and seat covers, with the help of soft brush attached to the vacuum swipe the floor and the seats up to the dashboard and doors. Just be careful when vacuuming the leather seats because it is very easy to get scratched and damaged.

Spray cleaners evenly on the seats up to the door and dashboard upholstery, rub it evenly afterwards. Keep it dry with the use of dry cloth. Laundry detergent is also one alternative in case a spray cleaner is not available. Just mix it up with warm water. Do not soak the seat with too much water it cause stains and will cause a bad smell.

Some seat covers are made out of different materials and it require proper washing instruction, same way with carpets but don’t soak the carpets in water to avoid decay and mould smell. Dried them up with dryers of under the sun.

Clean the dashboard using wet cloth to gently remove stains and other sticky marks. Dry it with clean and soft cloth or towels. Afterwards spray a little plastic polish and spread it slightly with dry and soft cloth. Polish makes your dashboard shiny and it also protects the plastic cover.

Get rid out of foul smell coming from air conditioner. Check for clogs caused by dirt, a debris build-up, and leaves. Drain the tube. Clean the cowl cover and use antibacterial spray to prevent unpleasant scent.

Change oil regularly also. Otherwise it will also cause unpleasant smells to leak in the interiors. It smells bad especially with the air conditioner on. You could also put air fresheners for a more fragrant smell inside.

Many kinds of leading chemical, wax, polishes, and liquid paste help in cleaning and maintaining a good looking car. Some of these are Resin Glaze Wax, Metal Polish Cream, Liquid Glass Polish, Chrome Polish, Liquid Car Polish and the Cleaner Car Wax.

Other tools and cleaning accessories includes different sizes of brush, brooms, dust pans, flannel, drying cloths, rags, vacuum cleaner, dryer, bucket, car wash mop, squeegees, scrub sponge, wax applicator, car polishing and buffing bonnets.

Cover your car with canvas tarp or car cloth to protect it from heat and harsh weather whenever you park your car outside of your garage.

Unique Characteristics of Low Rider Cars and Bikes

by Nayan Choure,

A low rider refers to a vehicle in which the suspension and hydraulic system was modified to make rides as low as it could. Low riders have controls with their height adjustable suspension. Most of these are typical cars from the year 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. It has a lot of accessories out in the market to cater to the enthusiasts. And because of many modifications in its internal parts, such rides are more prone to damage or obstructions along the road and are not legally allowed to ply the streets.

Low riders started in East Los Angeles as a phenomenon for Mexican-Americans, with majority of its riders being Latinos. A customized hydraulic suspension system is very common features here. They have direct control on the suspension to alter the height, from simple to complex systems. It varies the combination of two battery-powered hydraulic pumps to produce specific movement of the vehicle.

Low riders were popularized and began as part of the Californian and Southwestern American metropolitan civilization. They aim to cruise as slow as possible as what their motto says, “Bajito y Suavecito” or “Low and Slow.” Their urban culture became universal in the early 1990s in West Coast hip hop.

In today’s new era, low riding outlook varies in many other cultures. Vehicles have new visual styles and appearance but still it is an important thing for the Chicano community. For all intents and purposes, all options in low riders are still available at low rider builders with their styles that vary from coast to coast.

Summertime is the most awaited season as it is the time when they go outside and hang around with their group. Some riders and tavern owners have their weekly gatherings together with their friends. Some will go for a drag race for a more thrilling experience. Low riders are typically seen in a prearranged shows or competitions.

In 1962, one of the most popular low rider was the 1964 Chevy Impala hardtop edition. Another model was the 1958 – 1964 Impalas. Meanwhile, the 1961 – 1964 Chevrolet Impala become the fastest selling car together with the 1978 – 88 GM G-bodies. Also hot in the market were the Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Buick Regal and the Pontiac Grand Prix. The 1973 – 1977 relative edition became the entry level low riders.

During intense customization of low rider cars, some go by in restoring stock cars particularly those American cars in 1930s – 1960s. Other countries like the Volvo PV544, VW Beetle, Morris Minor, Ford Zodiac, Vauxhall Cresta, Vauxhall Victor to be their substitutes for American car because of the shortage of imported cars and its costs in producing new vehicles.

Low rider cars were only in for only a year when the bikers were inspired and customized their own bikes for a low ride too. These inspired bicycles, a well modified bike, features long, curved banana seats, upward – swept handlebars, and with sissy bars. It is excessively chromed up with big wheels and velvet use as common accessories of these customized two-wheel rides.

Low rider bikes first came out and were recognized in the 1960s. It was first seen customized by George Barris in America. After that, the Schwinn Co. introduced to the market the new muscle bike or the so-called Sting-Ray that George Barris first used. It was featured in the Munster.

Until now, low rider bikes are famous and popular with its new designs and distinctive looks, fully customized and modified body in addition to its air hydraulic cylinder. Features include a height adjustable suspension, highly refined chrome, metal frame, twisted forks, handlebars or spokes, sissy bars and the mounted 2-seater love seat.

Personalizing your Pickup Truck

by Nayan Choure,

Truck accessories became part of the aftermarket used to enhance the function or style of original OEM pickup trucks. These are often differentiated from other accessories or parts referred as “cores” or “hard parts” including water pumps, radiators and distributors. Examples of popular accessories built for light duty trucks are grille guards, toolboxes as well as nerf bars.

During the 1990s, truck accessories are not very popular since it changed the appearance or the style of the vehicle. Other major US manufacturers such as General Motors, Chrysler, American Motors and Ford Motors considered their duty trucks namely Chevrolet, Dodge, Jeep and Ford as working vehicles. They did nothing to accommodate the need for appearance accessories. Instead they focused their specialty on enhancing the work done via accessorizing. Examples are spreaders as well as lift gates and snowplows.

On the other hand, market segments stretched out as producers offered variations of pickup truck sizes and types. With the advent of extended cabs, trucks began taking more of the urban appeal and purchased it for their style along with their utility. The new spectators of truck owners demanded more complex toolboxes complementing the appearance of their trucks.

Consequently, manufacturers accommodated the desires of their consumers. Products such as chrome fender trims, nerf bars, billet grilles as well as hood deflectors became widely available. Manufacturers also began to work together in designing their different truck models so as to easily put up the accessories using the bolt-on simplicity.

The Tractor Drives Farm Enhanced Product

by paul murray,

Tractor power made the mechanization of agricultural production possible just as the new country was developing. From the time of the California Gold Rush in 1849, steam power's role expanded as a replacement for human and animal muscle on the farm. After 1892, there was no stopping steam.
Even as steam became king, the concept of power from internal combustion stayed alive. Steam power required massive machines with little portability ; engineers and users dreamed about little engines without steam's handicap. So work commenced anew, using other combustibles like coal gas.
Coal gas wasn't a perfect fuel, but it was relatively clean-burning. The fuel may be introduced in a controlled way into a combustion chamber and then ignited at the right instant to push the piston back and revolve the crank. Adding the inertia of a flywheel on the crankshaft produced a continuing rotary motion. The internal-combustion was on its way.
In 1860 in Paris, France, Jean Lenoir made the 1st commercially produced internal-combustion engine. It burned city gas and worked sufficiently well, but its efficiency was poor since the fuel-air mixture wasn't compressed before ignition. Working with Lenoir's ideas, German Nicolaus August Otto awarded a patent in 1876 an engine with a four-stroke, or four-cycle, idea. Otto's engine ran more effectively, compressing the fuel-air mixture, thus charging each power stroke with extra potential energy. The modern gas engine was born.
concurrent developments in manufacturing and harnessing electricity were keys to the further development of the gas engine. Trusty, exactly timed electrical sparks got the task finished, whereas igniter tubes, hot bulbs, and other early ignition systems lacked precision to be used across the planet. When his patents expired about 1890, many others started making gas engines.
Otto's engine was called a gas engine, not a gas engine ; that came later. Otto's invention came along after oil was discovered in Pennsylvania in 1859, petroleum was first valued for its early use as kerosene, or'coal oil,' burned in lamps and stoves. But the early refiners did not know what to do with the stinky petrol waste product that resulted from refining crude into kerosene and other heavier fuels and oils. Gasoline was often burned as waste or dumped into streams. It was Otto's engine that solved the refiner's quandary, as gasoline became the preferred fuel for the internal-combustion engine.
